The Auto Asteroid Catcher is the upgraded version of the Asteroid Catcher. Instead of the player needing to manually target each asteroid that it processes, it will instead independently pull in asteroids on it's own and process them. Players are still able to take over manual controls with the F key, but it is no longer necessary. Auto asteroid catchers target asteroids at random by default but can focus on Iron, Carbon, Copper, or Ice via the UI. While focused the Auto Asteroid Catcher will focus asteroids, both pure and mixed, with the selected resource and thus still potentially require output sorting. The Auto Asteroid Catcher also generates Basic Science at 20% the rate of the Asteroid Catcher or mining manually.
